Greetings from India
Hello all.
We arrived here in India some ten days back and have now had ample time to recover from our bout of jet lag.
Our first few days were spent in the small village of Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh state in southern India. It was in Hindupur that we celebrated Divali. We have since moved on to Anantapur, a bit larger town also in Andhra Pradesh state in southern India. And it is Anantapur where we are now.
The kids and I are enjoying our trip, although I am at this time beginning to miss a few things from home.
Most of all . . . I miss a nice COLD drink. They drink a lot of coffee and hot tea here. We, of course, have plenty of water to drink. As addicted as I have been to Diet Coke, it is not the thing I miss most. I would be happy even with a glass of nice cold ice water. There is not much which can be found ice cold in India, even cola when found is not normally served with ice.
We will be going on to Bombay soon and will be able to find almost anything we desire there. It has now been almost five years ago that I spent almost six months in Bombay while working on the adoption of our twin girls. I am very familiar with Bombay and quite comfortable there. As I have told the kids, we will even find McDonald’s and Domino Pizza there. Believe me, I am holding this over their heads.
It is proving to be quite the incentive.
Until later,
Amy
